CAMPER PITCH

2009/11/23 · Leave a Comment

ett la benn was invited by Hella Jongerius’ jongeriuslab to take part at the pitch for the new CAMPER store at Berlin’s famous shopping strip Kurfürstendamm. The assignment was to present a conceptual approach for the entire interior.
The headline of our concept was called:
BERLIN URBAN CUT-OUTS
The basic idea of it was to bring Berlin itself into the store and to arrange all brought-in elements in a very Berlin way – meaning gallery style.

The concept included the following installations: Keep reading →

ett la benn wins 3rd at CODE poster contest

2009/09/10 · Leave a Comment

From more than 550 submissions, ett la benn’s poster „Tempelhof“ was elected as one of the top three visuals within the CODE poster contest, initiated by CREATE BERLIN.
Being the only european UNESCO City of Design, the network for Berlin Designers was looking for the visual code of Berlin.

CODEAwards

The Jury on „Tempelhof“: „ Airports are world-wide a landmark for cities. Also the once largest airport of the world, Berlin Tempelhof, is in various regards a large symbol for the city of Berlin. Very present in the minds of all Berlin citizens, especially since it lately executed and often discussed closing.
The artists have managed to throw a glance at both, the city’s past and future, through just one photograph. The power that can be thus generated by an image like this is tremendous. The fugacity of a significant symbol of a city’s infrastructure, the consideration of the different weather conditions and last but not least the self-explanatory Coding/De-Coding via the existing airfield markings is remarkable.“ Keep reading →

ett la benn @ DMY Asia Exhibition Tour 2009

2009/09/01 · Leave a Comment

This year, from August till December at six different design fairs we will showcase a selection of design objects both by established designers and upcoming talents living and working in the German capital Berlin.

The group exhibition presents a variety of unique editions and interior products.
The collection juxtaposes a set of rather minimalistic industrial objects against one-offs and often manually made sensual, limited items.

Surprising in their formal playfulness and pushing the boundaries of material deployment the items on display question our habitual relations with objects.
Adaptable and modifiable, these foresighted products easily adapt to ever changing living conditions and habits.

Guiding the ‘CHINA TRAVEL CHANNEL’ through Berlin

2009/07/10 · Leave a Comment

The chinese ‚Travel Channel’ visited us last month in order to interview us on the Berlin design scene.
Due to their collaboration with Case da Abitare, an international magazine for interior, design and living, they wanted to portrait the lifestyle, art, design and creative energy of our vibrant city.

After explaining to them our projects and overall working philosophy in our studio, we spontaneously decided to extend our meeting and show them around the city a little.
Our first stop: Yumcha Heroes in Berlin-Mitte, just around the corner and coincidentally designed by us!
